  • Do you manage your career, or does your career manage you?

  • Are you servicing a ‘career’ or are you working a job?

  • Are you satisfied with your performance in your circle of responsibility?

  • Are you aware of your circle of influence?  Are you taking full advantage of your ability to influence others?

  • Do you view your career position as strategic?

  • Are you aware of what you add to the ‘bottom line’ from your position?

  • Are you efficient?

  • Do you have an effective ‘priority agenda’? 

  • How do you know if you are working on the projects that provide you with the greatest return on your time investment?

  • Do you have an effective method of determining what you should be accomplishing?

  • How strong are your financial statement skills?  What do they tell you?

  • Do you receive timely and accurate financial information?  Do you use your circle of influence to obtain this information?

  • Do you produce timely and accurate financial information?

  • Does your internal financial information allow you to manage your area of responsibility?

  • What is your leadership style?

  • Is leading others easy or hard for you?  Are you getting the results you desire from your leadership skills?

  • What does your organization’s strategic plan look like for next year?  Three years?  Five years?

  • Do you lead with your organization’s strategic plan in mind?  Are you in alignment with your top management?

  • Does your management team know exactly how to manage to the strategic plan? Are you in alignment with this plan?

  • Is your area of responsibility properly staffed with the optimal headcount?

  • Do you receive an optimal return on your headcount investment?

  • Are you satisfied with your personal people management skills?

  • What is your understanding of motivation?

  • How do you think?  How do you obtain enough data to support your thoughts process?

  • What is your personality type?  What are your strengths, weaknesses, and blind spots?

  • What are the personality types of your subordinates?  Of your bosses?

  • What is your interaction style? What are your strengths, weakness, and blind spots in your interactions with others?

  • What are the interaction styles of your subordinates?  Of your bosses?

  • Are your meetings worth their investment in time?  Do they accomplish what they are designed to accomplish?

  • What is the satisfaction level of your relationships outside of your work?

  • How is your marriage?  How is your relationship with your children?

  • Is your life in balance?  What is the level of satisfaction with life as a whole?

  • Are you aware of the impacts of your career pursuits on your social life, spiritual life, physical well-being, and emotional well-being?

  • Are you able to maintain balance with your career, family, financial, physical, emotional, and spiritual development?

From an Organizational Perspective…

  • Are you satisfied with the performance of your business or business unit?

  • Are you profitable, financially viable?

  • Are you efficient?

  • How is your cash flow?

  • What do your financial statements tell your lenders, investors, key customers, key vendors, and other stakeholders?  What do they tell you?

  • Do you receive timely and accurate financial information?

  • Does your internal financial information allow you to manage your business?

  • What does your strategic plan look like for next year?  Three years?  Five years?

  • Does your management team know exactly how to manage to your strategic plan?

  • Do you have alternatives?  Do you have a method of evaluating alternatives?

  • What does your business do best?  Are you realizing a full return on your expertise?

  • Are you properly positioned in your markets?

  • How are your vendor relations?

  • How are your customer relations?

  • Are you properly staffed with the optimal headcount?

  • Do you receive an optimal return on your headcount investment?

  • Are you satisfied with your personal people management skills?

  • Are your managers trained to deal with managing people?

  • Are your meetings worth their investment in time?  Do they accomplish what they are designed to accomplish?

  • Are your internal information systems and internal procedures in alignment?

  • Do your management staff and employees fully utilize your software?

  • Are you experiencing transitions?  Do you have the people skills, change skills, and patience to manage these transitions?

  • Do you manage your business, or does your business manage you?

 

From an Educational Perspective…

  • What is ‘good mental health’?

  • What is ‘impaired mental health’?

  • Why is good mental health not about feeling good all the time?

  • What does labeling our emotions as 'good' or 'bad' impact our self-image and our self-esteem?

  • What is the meaning behind the ‘full range of emotion'?
